Stellan Skarsgard 'saddened' by The Painted Bird criticisms despite film's 'beauty'



THE PAINTED BIRD brings some of the starkest, darkest, and most horrific scenes to screen that many viewers have ever seen, and although the gorgeous film puts so much effort and time into how delicate the craft of cinema is, it received a lot of criticism. Now, one of the stars of the film, Stellan Skarsgard, has spoken out about what makes this film so special, and indeed why he is "saddened" by the critics' words.
